Fast carriages and a beautiful day!

Today's perfect weather made for a wonderful day at the Live Oak Combined Driving Event in Ocala, Florida. Not too hot- but sunny, a nice breeze and plenty of shady trees if I needed them. This event is all about speed. Fast horses, quick turns and the best time wins!

Spring is in the air...literally

With the recent warming temperatures and the nice spring breezes the tree population has been working hard at preparing for the next generation. Though its not cool if you have allergies- or enjoy a clean car- it is amazing to realize how much pollen the trees produce. Today a strong breeze actually picked up enough pollen off a live oak tree that I could see a cloud of it floating through the air! As my good friend Aubrey so eloquently put it- "The trees are trying to reproduce in my nose!"

There's always a first post...

I've been putting off restarting my blog for a long time. But, today's the day! A beautiful day and me finally getting used to my new camera has inspired me to put up the first post.

This will be a place to share pictures, discuss the great outdoors found in Florida and regale you with tales of my animal encounters.
